was told i would be better of just getting a/c delco parts for it, but why? gm parts just better for these trucks or

Actually yes they are better, GM ignition components only on those Vortec trucks in my opinion and experiences..

first off. i hate accel junk. never realy had good luck with there stuff. 2 bad supercoils and blueprinted dist out of the boxes in a row. but for some reason the old shot gm fired everytime to verify the new was junk.

and yes x2 on the vortec 96-up only get gm cap/rotor and plugs. wires will be fine any kind basicly. automechanic talking here trust me on this.
