anyone ever used 1 or seen 1 used?

That's a pipe kinker...don't waste your cash on that.

Get a JD2 or equivalent and you'll never look back.

Amen to the kinker part... no bender that says "pipe" should be doing cage work.

As for the build it yourself bender, you're prolly thinking of

i've looked at the jd2 benders and protools (they have plans for a bender), but its a small type bender, see heres link to the plans, its for protools model hmp200:

http://www.pro-tools.com/200k.htm

this place also has plans for several different models:

http://www.gottrikes.com/Tube_Bender.htm

any1 have experience w/ any of these?

how do they compare in bend quality to the protool 105 or jd2 model 3 or 4(any difference between model 3 & 4, other than the hydro?)

in my reaserching benders, i've bookmarked these sites:

http://toolsplus1.com/eztube.htm

http://www.jd2.com/

http://www.pro-tools.com/index.html

http://www.tubetek.net/index.php

http://www.gottrikes.com/Tube_Bender.htm

http://www.lowbucktools.com/hydbender.html

has anyone tried any of these... others besides the protools or jd2(they already have a good track record) has anyone built their own and just bought the dies? if so which one's? which bender gives the best quality, in its build and its bends? if you had to do it again, is there anything you would do different? which bender is best ''bang for your buck?
