I've got a 2001 Toyota Landcruiser that is going to need what I'll call the "pre-muffler"... (comes after the cats, but before the final large canister near the tailpipe). It's located basically along the passenger side about half-way back.

Without even checking with my local Toyota stealership, I am going to guess at least $500 for the replacement, so I thought I'd put out the challenge to anyone here first. :wink1:

If you know of a reputable website that sells Genuine Toyota parts, or happen to have other sources (like a friend that works at a parts place) let me know... I'm sure I can replace it myself, and I'd like to use a genuine part....just don't want the standard "reacharound" from my local Toyota Parts Counter. :D

Greg, we have a pretty good hook=up at the local dealer here so if you want on monday give me a call and i'll see what we can do for you. Got a $500.00 bumper cover for the wifes car for $200.00. :thumb:

The best source and the best knowledge is 'CruiserDan' at American Toyota in Albuquerque. On their phone options list in the parts section, he's #8.

CruiserDan is his user name over at the ih8mud.com board. In fact, since you own a 100-series Land Cruiser, you might want to be over there, too. If you happen to call him, make sure to tell him Claudia from the Mud board sent you.

I second CruiserDan, I know my buddy always uses him when he needs stuff for his 80

Word has it that the part retails for $444.06 :yikes:

Unfortunately, that about what I expected. I'll make a few phone calls as suggested and see what sort of discount is available.

Thanks guys! :thumb:
