Not bad... /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

im sure its all the chrome that makes it that powerful /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

thats alot of money for just an engine... maybe marine parts are more expensive /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Not much power for the $$$. Lots better engines out there for the money that make way more power.
Maybe the selling point is that it's not a Maint. Intensive engine?

with sites that have high daller items like that, the "click to order" button cracks me up /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Exactly. A buddy of mine recently bought a new speed boat. He was showing me the cost differences of upgrading from a fuel injected 350 to a 454, and the upgrade cost was around $15K.

Insane. You could have a Motown block with a Whipple on there making the same power for ten grand less.

heck, try having to put 2 at 50 g's into a boat /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif no blowers either....

do you need the money for a hi-pinion axle? /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

Too much Money- my motor- Merlin 3 race block with billet splayed caps, Callies 4340 Crankkshaft, Carrillo Rods, J/E Blower pistons, merlin Bill Jenkins" pro stock heads, 2.30 intake, 1.88 Exhaust valves, manley valves- Comp cams 947-16 springs, Comp cams full roller Blower cam. Mooneyham 12-71 stage 4 Blower, 14mm drive, dual predator carbs. crane gold rockers with stud girdles msd crank trigger ignition. serve duty roller lifters..................about $22,000 and over 1000 Hp on 114 race fuel /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

From finding parts for my jet boat with a 460 BBF: marine parts are just freakin' expensive!!!! Take the typical automotive part and add at least $100 to the cost and you get the basic marine price. Go figure. Well meybe not tha much, but close. Don't have it here, but look at the price difference between the MSD marine ignition and the regular automotive ones. Better water resistance I guess.... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Never mind the price of a decent set of headers... Stainless steel... water jacketed... WELL over $1k for a set of Bassets or Lightnings.... too scated to go find the actual prices /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

couldnt ya get the same torque lower in the rpm range with a built CTD for like... uhh, 1/3 of that?
