Thought this was odd. I've never seen one before.

Do Canadian odometers read in kilometers or miles? I would assume kilometers. 99,999.9 kilometers isn't very many.

All of the '87 and up Blazers / Pickups / Suburbans I've owned or worked on all had the 6 digit odometer, plus the "tenth's" digit (for 7 numbers total).
But recently I looked at an '89 K5 that did not.
US vehicles, not Canadian.

"Was there even a factory in Canada that built the trucks?"
GMC: General Motors of Canada.

General Motors Company
Chevrolets and GMCs are built together on the same assembly lines.

GMC trucks were Canadian built years ago, and a little different than Chevy trucks through through the late '60's.![]()
My loaded '86 has a 5-digit without trip, my '88 is also 5 digit but it does have the trip.
I had thought ALL the '89-'91 got the extra digit, but I guess that's not right. I've seen a few in the early-mid 80's trucks that also had the extra digit, but I don't know why they had it. Perhaps they were built in Canada but sent to the states? Was there even a factory in Canada that built the trucks?
