I always liked these kinds of hold downs but my new battery seems to be too wide. The hole won't line up well and gets on a bind. This happens to be an optima hold down but it worked on my last Oreilly battery.

I've been sanding on it and trying to wallow out the slot but it's being stubborn.

Other side might be fat around the lower lip? Not tucking in enough? Dirt in the pan? Or just needs more "wallowing" :D

I put a rat tail file on a drill and extended the slot. Plus sanded about 1/8 off the tabs. Everything was clean and proper. Nothing's ever easy.

I haven't bought a sid post battery for a while now but I use the old factory black hold down blocks. I usually grab one when I hit the you pull it yard.
