Like the title says, I am looking for a manual or some tips so I can rebuild my early style 2wd nv4500. Any help is appreciated, I could really use some guidance. Thanks

Just curious what problems you are having that make you want to rebuild it. I am running pretty much the same drivetrain as you and I think my NV4500 needs to be rebuilt as well. I'm getting a lot of gear noise when in neutral or not under power at higher speeds. I was hoping it was my transfer case but I'm leaning towards the tranny now.

Ashman, The 2/3 and 3/4 syncros where gone. It was a craigslist transmission with the 2/3 or L/1 (whatever you want to call it) syncro gone when I got it. I limped it along for 10,000 miles but was going to start messing up gears if I didnt tear it down.
