Like the title says. Was browsing through parts in the lmc catalog tonight and keep seeing them talk of a non removable top. What did the hardtop version look like and does it have the same looking seams as the fiberglass top? Just curious as to what this is and if anyone has a picture of it?

I saw one once but it was custom made, had the top off a burban with barn doors. Was very nice body work. I wish I would have taken pics.

I believe it refers to the 91 ( 90? ) they had the security bit bolts. Seat bealts attached to topper.

I think they are referring to the northern state K5. After 30 years in the salt, you can't remove the top because it is the only thing holding the body together.

I can vouch for that (had to weld the tailgate shut:doah:):haha:

I've seen them talk about with the removable top (i.e. hardtop) and without the removable top (i.e. no top) ... maybe you misread "without the removable top" ?

I guess im misreading it. I keep seeing that like it was some sorta option like either a soft top or a tonnu cover of some sort of top like the suburban.

Always thought about how cool that'd be .. anyone else seen one? pics mby?

FWIW, my '90 had the original security torx hardware, but no seat belts on the top (no provision for them). I'm the second owner and the first said everything was original.

maybe it's the 92-94 fullsize blazer that turned into the tahoe?

I think Colby nailed it. My neighbor sold his last year and it was like a 92 or so. He called it the "predicessor" (sp) to the tahoe. Looks just like a blazer with no removable top, two door and all. Would have been a cool SAS candidate for sure.

And that custom, lowered jobby is probably just that with the non-removable top.

i think the pre tahoe blazers had the non removeable top as was said.it was just like the top of the suburban.all steel construction and no seems like the s10 blazer body but full size.

Does it say something that I can tell you that the roof, rear windows and tailgate came off a Suburban before reading the article? :)

The rear windows have the sharp corner in the bottom rear, the roof has the ribs, and the tailgate has the weird beltline (and the window the larger inside border) that distinguishes the Burb rear from the Blazer. Still nice work, if you're into that sort of truck.

My '91 has security torx bolts and rear seatbelts attached to the top.

This is the '92 Blazer:
