And use it? Thinking I might get one but not sure how much I need it or how useful it is. I can see some great uses for it but one with a lead set is about 175 bucks

i just bought the 3 a couple months ago.. tho i haven't used it yet, it is perfect for working on boats.. hopefully, when i slow down a little i can break it out and play with it..

I was thinking about it the other day, but I wanted to get my truck account a little lower first.

Check on Amazon.com I think it is only $99 and the lead set is $48

Yup, $100 and free shipping, just picked one up this afternoon. They have one with the lead set for $140 or so but I restrained myself.

I've only ever used version 2 so I'm looking forward to the speaker and voltmeter on version 3. :D

Got one and like everyone says, I use it constantly. It really has a million uses:bow: Great tool.

I have a power probe 3 & love it very usefull. I kick myself in the but cause I paid 175 on the tool truck & could have gotten it for $100.

I also paid more on the tool truck, but last week it needed to be sent in for repairs. My tool guy said go grab it and I'll send it in for ya being as you bought it from me. So in a way I don't mind that I paid a little more for it. ($150) Less hassle for me.

Great tool, no complaints from me at all.

That is true. I am sure my tool guy would do the same.

So today I bought a used PP2 for 30 bucks. One of the guys where I work traded it in. His is 3 years old and used a couple of dozen times.

Picked one up from our yearly tool allowance money, got the pp3 kit with the short finder. First time I used it was for finding a broken wire to the rear speakers. That thing is awesome!

Well I used my new to me PP2 last night. I prefer the 3 model, it is easier to use. But my test light is still the first thing I grab.

I finally started using the heck out of my #3 this season, after having it sit around my toolbox for like a year... I knew it would be ideal on the boats, was just lazy...

omg, you guys think this thing is awesome on cars? unbelievable the amount of things I can do on boats with it! besides the standard voltage checks, continuity, etc, I can power up domestic water pumps, fans, etc, etc....

I now use it religiously...

On some things its the only thing to grab. We service APU's on trucks and the PP just rules there for ease of doing many things. AC troubleshooting is also easier.
