I just picked up an 85 1500 with a 6" lift....Well I wanted to know if any of ya'll have a picture of what your steering setup looks like...Should I have a special pitman arm or something with a lift this high? thanks

I have Crossover steering pics with a Dana60...

Most people here choose to go with crossover steering because it works much better when the vehicle starts getting flexed up while wheeling. The traditional drivers side arm tends to get into a bind, and limit steering when lifted etc.

sky manufacturing crossover and high steer installed on a dana 60 front.

The stock steering just kept pissing me off, so i went crossover. Big difference imo.

My 76 is lifted 6". The top 2 pics are from right after the lift. With the 44 up front steering wasn't that bad on or off road. Now that I have a 60 it does suck not having crossover. I will be going crossover in the next week or so. Anyways, here is what I did to gain the 6" in the steering- 4" raised arm and a 2" dropped drag link. FYI- I am selling the dropped draglink and the 60 3" steering block if you are interested.

60 set up. Have not changed the pitman arm in either case.
