I want a better manual for my '88 K5 than the crappy Chiltons that I have and was wondering how service manual cd-roms like these are:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1990-1991-CHEVROLET-BLAZER-REPAIR-SERVICE-MANUAL-CD_W0QQitemZ8072365939QQcategoryZ6760QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Have any of you had experience with ones like that? Are they any better than the Chiltons or Haynes manuals? I have the Helm factory manual for my Corvette which was over $100 but I'm looking for something a bit cheaper for my Blazer that will do the job.

Thanks,

Wes

looks good.. never used it though....

I dont know why it says...

Blazer 1980-1994

1980??? isnt it pretty much the same from the middle 70's up? or is 1980 when they went to the square headlights...

well I saw the price and was like.. for that price.. why not try... I didnt want to take your auction so I did a ebay search.. seems the guy is using the same CD as a ton of vehicles....

so since there are many.. I bought one.. we will see how it works... :wink1:

This is the repair manual for GM vehicles 1980-1999. This cd covers the following GM vehicles Astro 1985-1996, Blazer 1980-1994, S-10 Blazer 1983-1999, C/K-1500 C/K-2500 C/K-3500 1980-1998, S-10 Truck 1982-1999, Suburban 1980-1998, Tahoe 1995-1998, Envoy 1998-1999, Jimmy 1980-1991, S-15 Jimmy 1983-1999, S-15 Truck 1982-1999, Safari 1985-1996, Sonoma 1991-1999, Syclone 1991-1992, Typhoon 1992-1993, Yukon 1992-1998, Bravada 1990-1999, Chev/Isuzu Hombre 1996-1999. This is a full in depth aftermarket mechanics manual on cd. This is not the factory manual. This covers everything from simple tune ups to complete engine teardown and rebuild. All instructions and photos are printable. This is a full access cd. No codes needed and no limited access.

Yeah I think I'm just gonna go ahead and order one too. I'm thinking that it will be just like the CD that my mechanic uses. As long as it's better than a Chiltons manual it sounds like a decent deal for $8.25 including shipping. Plus, I can just print pages out when I need them and not worry about getting a book all greasy.

I still have my chiltons book from when I was 17 (1989) and you goto the driveshaft area... and there is grease in between the pages that show how to remove the universals :haha:

did ya order one?
I got mine today...

funny as hell.. guy could get in trouble...

Chilton's reference manual..... seems like a bootleg to me.. the guy is copying them and printing on the cd the label..... awww so funny....

Yeah I got mine the other day and it's absolute crap. It's the same thing as my Chiltons manual!

Also, when you install the thing it puts some sort of copy protection junk on your computer called "Cdilla". It's almost like spyware and I've heared that it can even monitor things such as copywrited content on the CDs you're burning. It's also shady because if you try to delete it from your hard drive, it will make a new copy from hidden files that it puts somewhere on your computer. After doing some research, I had to get "Spybot - Search and Destroy" to eradicate this Cdilla off my computer and I suggest you do the same if you want to get it off there. Run a file search on your computer and check to search hidden files also and I'll bet that your computer is infected as well.

Long story short...Do not waste your money on this CD manual from that guy!

After looking at the feed back on this guy's product, these CD's are apperantly just a Chiltons manual; so all you are buying is another Chiltons Repair manual. There are two classes of manuals "Shop" and "Repair". The first one "Shop" is the most desirable and complete. The second one "Repair" is a short perfunctory manual.
