Looking for opinions on the JB Conversions sye for the 241. The standard kit looks like gains 5" of length in the driveshaft. The super short kit gains 9". My driveshaft with the slip yoke is binding at any more than 10" of travel. I ground the yokes a lot and strapped it at about 9.5" of travel but I have lots of vibration so I'm not happy with it. I figure a SYE with a flange and CV is the ultimate fix.

Everything Jon makes is top notch.

I don't doubt that, more along the lines of "man I wish I would have gotten the super short version", or "why did I get the super short version".

Some quick geometry reduces the angle from 29 degrees stock slip yoke to 22 using the standard sye, and 20 degrees using the super short. This will lengthen the shaft by almost 10" which will help a lot.

gotcha.

I know a few guys on this board have used it, hopefully they'll chime in.

If it helps any, mine is right at 17 degrees with the rear axle moved back 1.5" and the sye. Tom woods cv shaft and its smooth as glass, I swear my old beater sonoma has more driveline vibes.

Yah its a little higher than I wanted.. I used a zero rate to move the axle back 1.5". Thinking im going to take that out, and run ruffstuff perches instead. That will lower the rear 1".

Y
I ran mine without overloads with a bed full of gear. You'll be fine......
ah just going over what adam did and it seemed to work well. If I have time to fab anti wrap bar I'll pull the overload. Doesn't take to much time with my hoist.
