I've been doing a little research and came across some threads on nylon brake lines over on pirate4x4. Speedway sells a kit w/ 25' of line and compression fittings. I believe the hose and fittings are rated at 1900 PSI and the kit costs around $30.00.

I'm really considering running this on both front and rear axles. Just wanted to know if some fellow CK5er's are using it and if so how do you like it?

I have that exact kit and its going on my crawler. I found some black 3000 PSI hose to upgrade it tho and I'm gonna keep the stainless steel brake lines I already have for right at the discs. That solves trying to find a fitting to replace the banjo bolts along with the flexing of the calipers and gettting snagged by a branch.

I have about 8 feet of it on my system. It was installed 10 years ago, so I am not sure if it is still the same stuff.

I can not get rid of the soft peddle. It works. Stops great. Will lock up the 35" tires on pavement. Put it took some time to get used to it. I have done everything I can to get rid of the feel. Everything I installed was new in the brake system.

For an off road only rig, no big deal. On the road it can be startling compared to todays vehicles.

Here I'm pretty sure nothing but steel or nickel/copper tubing is legal for road use, despite the fact nylon will not rust..some of the less informed inspectors at inspection garages "rejected" some vehicles that had all the brake lines replaced with the nickel/copper tubing, thinking it was regular copper tubing, till they were "educated" on the newer type of tubing being sold the past few years..

I would not mind using nylon on a "yard truck" thats only used to plow, farm chores,etc--beats having a blown brake line after letting it sit idle a lot..not sure if I'd trust it on road--nylon can kink, melt on hot exhaust,etc..

Most of the aftermarket "braided stainless" extended brakelines are nylon with the braided sheath for protection .

That being said , Not sure I would replace every bit of hard line on the truck with it or you could have the issues ktmoutfront described . But it is good stuff

1900 psi to low if you ask me for our trucks . and its all compression fittings = not dot legal in lots of states .

its brakes man don't skimp . go check your local parts stores . most have 25ft bulk line behind the counter and you cut off as needed and add flare with your old nuts or new nuts .
