Anyone know a good (cheap) source for the red o-rings for the newer hummer 12-bolts?

Ok, I thought I knew the corect O-ring for 12-bolt rims till I found out there is a newer design 12bolt rim. These are the newer ones rated at 3850lbs vs the older 12 bolts being 3500lbs. The quick way to tell the difference is the newer ones have a 13th hole.

The NSN for the red one is 5331-01-417-1043.

The problem is these go for $23 each at a HUMMER stealership. Does anyone know the specs so I can order from a non-Hummer source?

Well, I bought one online today. Once it comes in I will see if the local parts place can match it.

I dont know where to get cheap orings but heres some more pictures.It appears that the 8bolt and 3400lb. 12bolt rims take the same orings but the 3850lb. 12bolt rims use a thinner one.

If you look at the side by side pic of the 2 12bolt rims you can see the groove width /depth difference.

I went to a HUMMER website and they thought I was odd for not wanting to pay $23 to $43 for a REAL Hummer part.

The cheapest I have found was $12.45 shipped. I am hoping to cut that in half. Really this is not about the money, but I think its silly to pay the 'HUMMER' / Military price for these.

They are not. The seal popped at 20 psi. I did not realize when I first posted that there are the two different types of hummer 12-bolts. The ones I listed there work on the older 12-bolts and the 8-bolts. Sorry if someone bought the wrong o-rings.

As a side note:
I broke a magnesium H1 hummer runflat.
I was trying to mount a 37x12.5x16.5 Trxus MT on a 12-bolt hummer rim. I had a bit of trouble getting the wheel to seal and hold air. After putting 20 psi in the tire I heard it leaking badly. So I disassembled the wheel to find the runflat was broken. It appears the was a old hair line crack at one end. As I tightened the rim down the crack ripped like a zipper down one side for about a foot. I guess I am luckly the tire did not get cut by the sharpe edge.

Do you have any more details to tell the difference between the two 12bolt wheels. Now I'm not sure which ones I have.
 
Look at MEK5's last picture in post #4. The newer ones have 13 holes in them, but only 12 studs.
 
Not sure I'd bank on these numbers, but:

cross-sectional height 12/64~min/max
center hole diameter 14 21/50" min, 14 35/64" max

That's all I could come up with in a search, not sure if it even helps.

Guess this is a bit of an old post. :)

Now you come to the rescue....after I've sold my new never mounted 12b H1's. Seriously thanks for the research, after I sold them I wish I hadn't.
 
well i got those same o-rings, hopefully they work. ive got the older 12bolt rims
