Anyone know anything about International style D70\'s???

Someone wants to trade 2 d70's for my shortbed...
I'm wondering...if they are usable...
I figure the front could be used for the stubs...
but...I'm curious if the rear could be used...
and it's strength.

Anyone know anything about 67' International axles???

They are closed knuckle with drum brakes, and don't have the 35 spline stub shafts. Only the ones with open knuckles do. I would pass on it.

EDIT: oops, thought you said 2 fronts. The rear will be plenty strong. 1.5" 23 spline axle shafts. 35 spline shafts were introduced in the mid 70's, and could probably be swapped in if you wanted.
They also might have deep gears, like 4.88 or 5.13's, which could be resold for a little cash.

EDIT2: If they are '67 IH, then they are the large 6 lug wheel pattern also.

he wants to trade my shortbed for them...

if they are '67, they should be. International didn't get the standard 8x6.5 lug pattern until 1969 when they introduced their last new body style before they shut down production. However, nothing is ever for sure in the land of internationals. They let customers order what ever the heck they wanted back in the day.
