anyone know anything about Smittybilt winches?

i found a place that has them & they seem very reasonably priced, especially if you have no winch at all! any imput, any testomoanials pros/cons you know of. i'm going to check on their warranty b/c i need to get a winch!

$400 for a 10k winch sounds like cheap insurance!

when i get another better winch, i could always mount this in the rear!

i have considered this also(for the rear when i can find a money for it)! i hear they have a decent warranty but im not sure. i have heard bad things and good.

I've got an 8k on my trailer. It's been flawless in that application. It is much slower than a warn but I found the warn to fast for my taste there. As dfl701 said, I've heard good things and bad but so far, going on two years I've been satisfied.

4 wheel parts usually has like 20% off of that price. and for like 35 extra bucks you can get a lifetime warranty, factory warranty is 1 or 2 yrs, I don't remember.
