please help if you can anyone know if a 74 3/4 ton steering box is the same

as a 84 half ton blazer. thanks for any input:wink1:

Close but not quite.

'80 and newer boxes have metric o-ring ports.

Pre 74 boxes are 7/8", post are 5/8" input drive splines

Some place around 80-82 I think they went to o-ring.

Agreed, but hard to tell, my 77 has 5/8, but GM did vary their applications.

Just look at what years had d44s. I know for sure 74 and older are 7/8, anf somewhere 77-79 they go 5/8".

Best answer you get for free :D

And don't forget that your "74" truck is 33 years old and someone along the line could have easily swapped in a different year steering box that was different from original. :deal:

how about the 205 transfercase is that worth while. i would like to do a doubler with a 203. the tranny i have now is a 400

If you currently have a 400/205 then you only need the hard to find 32 spline 203 range box and adapter.
