anyone know what Chevy a N/P 207 came in?

Reason i ask is i just got a Jeep Wrangler with a TPI V8 and it has a 700R4 and a N/P 207..The guy told me the 207 and the 700R4 were out of the same vehicle..I want to upgrade to a stronger transfer but was wondering what i should look for..The 207 has the POS transfer shifter with a buttom on the top of the knob you have to push to get it to move to 4L,4H,N,ect..and the Jeep has a body lift and a transfer case drop on it and the shifter only sticks inside the cab 2" or so.And i have searched for a longer shifter for the 207 with no luck..

So does anyone have any info on this setup?

Any help would be greatly appreciated..
