ok guys... I found this compressor over at my grandfathers old sawmill. it looks like a york, but I have absolutely no idea what it is out of, or if it is a york or not... anybody know if this is a york or not (there are no serial #'s on it).

I was going to say the same... having just closely read the York tech article, it looks just like a York compressor.

now... is there any kinda of problem that not having an electric clutch would pose? if so could it be converted to an electric clutch???

I have heard that the clutches are the expensive part... Check out the tech article for all the info you really need to know... **HERE**

It looks like a York to me too,,, but it looks like it may have the clutch pulley in it. I had to add a new switch wire to mine,, it is hard to find where the connection is ,,,but it is on top behind the pulley,, look closely because it is hard to see...
take a look at my compressor
