if there is a source for the screws, nuts and bolts sizes for K5's

Don't say the LMC catalog because while it shows the pictures, it does not give the sizes.

I don't know of a source but I have a 5 gallon bucket full of all the bolts and screws I removed from my truck. let me know what you need.

can someone confirm that their original wheel well moulding screws look like these?

Mine are most certainly from an 81-86 C/K or '87 R/V, but without pulling them out of the fender, they are that style. I can pull them out if you want to know if they are self tapping. As I recall, you are being quite true-to-factory on your truck.

The head is phillips, but between the screwdriver slots (so at 45* angles radiating out of the center of the head) there are very faint lines radiating out.

I would almost bet they are stainless. I don't see a spec of rust on mine. Wheel well trim appears to be aluminum, so stainless screws would have been GM's only choice IMO.

yeah...I could go with chrome or stainless..more important to me is that I get the right look...I don't want to use a pan head if it was originally a flat top with washer...etc...

Yes, kind of a fake washer under the head, the ones you picture are pretty much the same, other than those little lines I mentioned, and those look like chrome.

I'm anal, but if you have the choice and the cost isn't crazy, I'd go with stainless. Not sure about chrome, but the steel underneath the chrome will react with the aluminum, eventually ruining the trim. Pretty big variable how long or how bad, but eventually it will happen (if the chrome is compromised I assume) and the aluminum is in contact with the base metal.

Much (almost all?) aftermarket chrome is garbage, because it's apparently done cheaply, or completely wrong.

No one here can hook you up with some?

the ones in the Au-Ve-Co catalog are Zinc...although they look like stainless or chrome

If I have to I will go back to the parts yard and pull one and then find it in the Au-Ve-Co catalog...there is never a full set at the parts yard...never any wheel well trim..

I have an factory GM truck parts catalog that used to be what was used at the parts counter at dealers to look parts up,and it lists all the bolt sizes, threads and length..but I dont think it has moulding screw specs listed in it,I never really looked..my catalog goes from 1946-1972 only...not sure if later ones still gave the bolt specs or not..

My '85-88 parts manual should have the part numbers if you want me to look. They might still be available for all I know.

If they show "NA" in the parts manual, normally the specs of the fastener are listed so they could be purchased locally.

Most likely bought mine off of ebay. Been quite some time.

Obviously the wrong body style, but along these lines: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1988-1989-C...anuals_Literature&hash=item33842366e2&vxp=mtr

Mine is a two-parter. One shows the exploded parts diagram, the other explains all the various codes (RPO, VIN, axle, trans, etc) and further breaks down group numbers into specific part numbers. For instance, you look up the exploded parts diagram for a 350, because you want the GM part number for the camshaft, and the diagram will show a group number (instead of a part number...if you looked up a door, it would display the part number as there was only one door design), since there were various cams depending on what vehicle that motor was installed in. The actual catalog under that group, will show the individual part numbers for each application... "1986 K5 w/AC 350 Vin X" "1986 K10 350 VIN Z" and so on.

There are a lot more of those than you think. When you start getting into the automatic trans components, speedometer gears, gauge clusters, etc., there are HUNDREDS of part numbers for the same part (which is why GM first categorizes them by group), but because the ratio, diameter, etc. is different, the part number is too.

I found a 1973-1974 parts catalog for chevy trucks but they want $99 for it:

So I found this 1973 parts catalog which should be the same for $20

Those should be the style, I just pulled mine out last week. Do you want the ones I have left? Cover shipping and I'll throw them in an envelope.

Edit: Fyi it's from an 84 blazer

Re-edit: screw it, shipping would be under a buck, if you want them send me an address. Or I can upload a picture Saturday.

Gmpartswiki.com do a search and look it up
You can look up parts manuals and pic manuals.

That book is a 1972 edition, thre are later editions and nice to have.

FWIW, I just checked my parts manual. Even for the wheel well molding kit, it states "except screws". Nowhere can I find the screws listed. Parts diagram doesn't call them out. They might be there somewhere, I just don't see them.
