Looking at ideas for what imma do with the old camper special when I inherit it. It's only a 2wd, so my options are lift coils or spacers for it for the front end? Unsure of which is better? Found aluminum spacers on eBay as well as springs. To me springs would be better?

Only looking to get 2-3".

A 1" body lift could be done as well, truck could use new body mounts.

The second Option is go 4wd, but that swap is a lot of work and time.

Just looking to keep it a clean looking truck as its mint :thumb:

Any help appreciated

I don't know about the older trucks, but I know from lifting a 95 2wd, if you spa. 2-3" spring or coil lift, your tie Rods and steering will bind. Badly. Look for a spindle lift for sure.

Yeah seems only spindle lifts are available for the 88 up rigs, but appears guys have swapped them parts onto the square bodies.

prob best to just do a 3" body lift . as much as I hate to say it .

unless you can find lift spindles its almost a waste as spacers / coils put the ball joints / tie rods all at different working angles and close to maxed out and possibly max them out when cycling .

so if you want lift 2 easy choices body lift or 4x4 frame body swap.

Yeah just seein what's out there.

I've read Guys going with hd springs to gain 1-1.5", also ball joint flip can be done

Not much out there in the way of aftermarket anymore.

I've read thru Mrk5's c to k swap, looks like work. But not so bad.

I have done a few body swaps from 2wd to 4wd .

but I had good 4x4 frame/engine/tranny/axles and shot body so it was just a body swap .

Yeah appears just have to put 88-98 upper and lower balljoints in. Appears the outers should bolt back on, so I've read?
