Anyone Live In The CA Bay Area??

I'm pretty new to the 4wheel world and I want to baptize the Blazer. I live in the Bay Area and I want to know if there are any local wheelin spots around here where a beginer can get some practice.

absolutely. where are you? i live in brentwood, and work in livermore. there's a handful of other guys here, they'll reply as they see fit.
carnegie is a motorcycly area out past livermore, but there's some places to take your rig in the dirt, and some hills. there are signs for it on the freeway.
frank raines is a good one. you go out 580east over the altamont, and down the road aways,to patterson. the city, not patterson pass. turn right, and go 17 miles. cost is $2.00, lotsa fun. crash90 and i went awhile back, had a blast.
hollister isn't too far, and there's been talk of a trip out that way.
pismo dunes is a bit of a stretch, but a trip is planned for the weekend of august 4th. look on the blazin' trails section of this forum.

anyway, glad to see another norcal blazer!

i figure i'll be outta work at 3:30, at the range by quarter till four. i usually peel off around 2:30 or 3, but i got in late today.
i don't know if you'll be able to make it into modesto by 4:30 if you stop by. i'm gonna have the clubs with me all week. we're driving down to san diego this weekend, and i'm going to get in as much golf as possible. i'm trying to set up a round on thursday afternoon. can you get off early?

Ya i'll have to take a rain check for today! I'll se what I can do during the week I usually leave work at 3 so I be passin that range at around 3:15-20 or so.

Thanks guys... I'll try to check out that Patterson place. I also heard of the place in Hollister... think I saw a segment about it on Bay Area Backroads. I live in Alameda and both places are a good hour and a half away. Still no luck finding a local place to go wheeling (that's legal.) I hit this one spot over the weekend off of 580 near Pleasanton/Rodeo park. You can see it from the freeway... a buncha little hills and stuff. But CHP rolled up on me after 20 mins and ummm... chased me off. I just turned and went as soon as I saw him... he didn't even get a chance to chew me out. I'll just have to experiment more =) maybe i'll see ya guys around. peace!
