Google searched it, but couldn't find anything....

I could make my own, but was curious if there was a pre-fabbed kit somewhere. :dunno:

Is it different than the blazer frame? I got a bolt in brace from ORD, so it should be the same for the truck I would think.

I have the ORD brace, from my '88 K5, but the x-members are diff.

The 2wd's front x-member (steering x-member) has a slant in it.
It slants toward the cab, from top-to-bottom.

That said...

What do you mean Issaam?
Do these not break at the box, like the 3rd gens/blazers? :dunno:

Or,is it only the SFA rigs?
I just assumed they were all doomed to failure, and should be fixed Immediately. :haha:

Gotcha.

He's prolly just meaning that you don't need it because it's 2wd and you won't be crawling it.

2wd and stock size tires so no need.
Stop wasting time and money reinventing the wheel. Just get it running and use it.
You should have got it running the first week you got it.

I don't have all my parts, yet...
And the motor comes out tomoro.

I'm not just slapping all the parts together, and calling it good.
I want something I can be proud of, not just some truck.

I had a 1974 C10 2wd with a 454 that cracked the frame around the steering box,and I've seen a few other 2wd trucks do the same,so I wouldn't say its limited only to 4x4 trucks, but it is far less common...the truck I had never had wide or tall tires on it either,a friends uncle owned from new before I bought it off him...he did use it to haul a slide in camper though...perhaps that added strain to it and stress cracked the frame there?..

I had a certified welder stitch up the cracks and it never gave any further greif..couldn't figure out why it cracked there, all the bolts holding the box on were tight--there was a few loose rivets in the crossmember and one sheared off one,I put grade 8 bolts in place of them and had the welder put a bead to the frame rail for added insurance..

Wait... So, ORD's weld-on brace works on a 2wd?

Again, I learned from the K5.... I want to deal with each component ONCE.
None of this in-and-out 4x crap...

they (ORD) make a 2wd version for the 73-87...maybe it'll fit. call the ORD folks.
