You mean, to completely replace the stock dash? Just the panels for gauges or the entire thing?

no the entire thing. my entire dash is screwed. i dont need a place for a dash. somthing simpe.

I'd just fab up something cheap then. Anything anyone is going to sell is going to look good too, and therefore be not so cheap. Ryoken's dash panel for instance looks awesome, but it's highly functional too, and will be worth the price.

If I were you, I'd just make something with some small-diameter steel tubing, as a frame, stick a flat panel on it and mount the gauges you want. I've thought of doing the same thing, but I'm leaning toward buying Ryoken's dash.

whats ryokens? is that a site? iv though about making my own but i have never welded sheet metal. i only have a lincoln stick welder. and if i try it i will never finish it or it will look terriable. i just want somthin i can bolt in that look semi good.

thanks..... I really need to get back into that... I have a good plan of attack, but after all the hrs on the last mold, and it not being acceptable was a big letdown...

anyway, I'm not sure what he wants.. if your doing a cage/prerunner setup, check out Rdnblazers dash thread... not too difficult to bend up some al, either rig a setup like his, or farm ot the bends to someone with a break..

as for just an insert, like mine, the avenues seem to be either hog out the factory plastic, hog out/ buy cover (another easy fab), and maybe add some angle rings to the mix...

I doubt I'll be running mine, or even an insert of any kind in a yr or 2.. I'll be going with a cage/prerunner style to match the new center console I'm doing now...

edit....

Well, you're probably like most folks, where your rig will be an ever-evolving design.

My goals are different. I want to modernize the rig enough to keep the "Joneses" at bay and keep me from wanting a late-model truck. If I can load the K5 up with enough goodies, I won't want a newer truck.

You dash definitely falls within my plans. :D

I don't have any pics at the moment but I'm in the process of fiberglassing my old one. I filled the cracks with resin, sanded all the vinyl with 60 grit and layed down a layer of glass mat. I think it'll turn out pretty nice and I've only spent about 40 bucks in supplies.

*EDIT* Here are some of the pics.
