last week, i slid on some ice into a guardrail from trying to avoid hitting a car that had lost control. my front drivers side wheel and recovery hook took the impact, i think i was going about 15mph. when i got it home, i could see that the shackles were bent towards the passenger side. the front of the springs had also slid towards the pass side on the eye bushings. basically my whole front axle moved towards the passenger side. today i replaced the shackles and all the leaf spring bushings. it brought the axle back over a little bit, but not all the way. is it very common for the leafs to bend in a situation like this, or is it more likely that i have some frame damage?

If it's bad you could prolly tell just by getting underneath and lookin at it. The C-channel frames are not known for their strength, but mine has held up to a good amount of abuse. I would guess that going 15mph and hitting something as solid as a guard rail at such a harsh angle could bend it pretty easy. Did the leaf pack look bent when you removed it?

First and foremost, get us some pictures. Its tough to tell what's going on without seeing it :D

K series frames aren't particularly tough to bend but leaf springs are pretty easy to bend too.

I would look at the springs before the frame.

i'm hoping its the springs, but visually they seem to look ok. the frame doesn't have any noticeable damage, that i can tell. the hood is still lined up correctly with the fenders, up top. i'm thinking that would be the most noticeable symptom. what seems most realistic, swap out the springs and see what happens, or just take it to a body shop? i can throw some pics on here if it helps, but i don't think it'll be very easy to tell from photograghs, i can't even tell looking right at it in my garage.
