Anyone own a 1999 - 2008 Chevy pick up truck?

I need to know the width of the bed, side to side top rail to compare to a 1987 Blazer. Have a chance to buy a soft top for pickup truck. If the measurements work I think it can be modified to work on Blazer.

i know the beds on the newer trucks are smaller, but not by how much.

I have an 03 GMC but it is a step side so the measurments will not work. I can get you the front to back measurment if you would like it. The short bed is 6 1/2 feet long. let me know if you want an exact measurment and I will run out and get it for you.

03 chevy 2500 ext cab short bed. the bed tapers in a bit from front ot back. out side measurement is approx 71" front to 69" rear. inside measurements are approx 64" front to 62 1/2" rear. the bed has the plastic caps on it so thats why the approx.

Thanks guys thats what I needed to know I can get the topper for $99.00 new. I now need to check on the K5 measurements.
