I've been doing a ton of clean up on my property and have a bunch to do on my other place and have been thinking really hard about buying a 12' or maybe even a 14' dump trailer.

I've been looking at Diamond C and Texas Pride.

Got a texas pride in my shop right now brand new . Its a rolloff dumpster trailer but for this info it dont matter .

Quality control sucks . Fit & finish of stuff bad . Welds missing . Roller welded to the pin it needs to spin on . Lack of frame support ( why its in my shop ) tarp system height lock pin gone fell out in transit . Toolbox design lets water rush in and no real drain system . Missing overrideer hook on the front so nothing to keep dumpster from sliding forward . The other 2 trailers he has same units have same problems and have even bent .

If your not going to use it a lot maybe a dump insert for the truck . This is what i have and it works great for the few times i need it . But i also mounted it in a pickup box trailer .

Go look them over good . Check lots of reviews . Maybe a used one to possible save on price as trailers are crazy high right now .

Prices are insane. I have a car hauler from Diamond C on order right now and the price makes me cringe. The dump trailers are even more money. It's just insane.

A used dump truck (lighter duty one) is cheaper than just a damn trailer in some cases...all I need is another whole vehicle though lol.

Anyone else have brand recommendations? I see a lot of PJ and BigTex out this way.

Starting a general contracting business, and want to pick one up. Used ones in good condition are so rare and pricey that new is looking appealing.

Thoughts?

Have used a 14k 7x12 PJ, like it a lot.

My brother in law has a Big Tex gooseneck dump trailer with the 4 foot sides. He bought it used and we've all used the crap out of it. Super handy moving dirt and gravel. Big Tex are nice trailers. There's some nice dump trailer comparison videos on YouTube.

Cool. Mine would need to be bumper pull. Like the low side ones for loading stuff with equipment. Only advice i've gotten is don't get the metal side extensions, build wood. The metal ones rattle themselves apart and break.

They also bend when you hit them. Then they will not come out of the pockets when you need to remove them.
