Hey Guys,

Anyone installed a early 60's C10 on a mid 80's K5 frame? I have really screwed up my K5 body and have a C10 that i could use. I actually think it would look pretty sweet. i need some opinions.

Let me know

I say go for it! I've always liked the lines on that body style. Of course, I'm the one that wants to make a SUV styled vehicle using a duece-and half cab and front clip.

I really want to, but am worried if it will dimensionaly look right and fit close.
Anybody else tried or have pics???

It couldn't possibly look any worse than some of the abortions floating around the net today.

get it done, it'll be great.

I say go for it. Just make sure you dont accidentally build in 12in of body lift like so many guys do when they build mounts.

lol what a pos that truck with the candycane driveshafts is.

Back in the 80's, my best friend had a 66 chevy step side on an early 70's K5 frame. His uncle had done the conversion years before. As far as looks it was pretty sweet looking, and it functioned great. Since his uncle had done the conversion, I can't tell you what, if any, trouble spots he ran into doing it. But, having been around the truck a lot back then, I didn't notice anything that looked like it needed to be majorly tweaked to make it work. From what I could tell, it looked like it swapped over relatively easly.
