NOT a 88-98 style bumper . not a bolt on at all . and fyi 88-up body style the frames bow out after the cab and get wider unlike out 34" frame width .

I like the step. Mine has 35s with a 6" lift and I need something to stand on back there

I cant find a single 88-98 bumper shaped like that one
sorry 99-06 trucks . and most were crap and rusted apart bad . side note i am sitting next to a 00 2wd 1/2 ton with one on it .
Why not just go with a hitch mounted step and keep factory bumper that matches the truck better? This is also much easier than fabbing brackets and such to get that bumper or similar to fit.

That doesn’t look like the one on my o4 but it does look like the one that was on my 94

But they are. They came as chrome or painted, with rubs stips and top pad, or with just top pads and no rub strips. They were literally on millions and millions of Chevy and GMC trucks. For years and years you couldn't have thrown a dead cat without hitting one of these bumpers.
If just boggles my mind how quickly the '88-'98 trucks have been forgotten. I'm not trying to knock anyone's knowledge here, but this was once extremely basic stuff.
Somebody remind me why you wouldn't just use the 73-87(91) truck bumper? It has a step and the frame width is correct. I seem to remember there is a small fitment issue, just don't remember what it is.
I think you will have to modify the top of the truck bumper to clear the hinges and spring of the K5 gate.
I could be wrong, just thinking out loud
that would be a lot easier than using the 88+ bumpers
someone has done a truck bumper from 73-87 on a blazer or suburban . seen the pics just dont recall were it was .
I know I have seen it done, I think it clears all the hinges. Its tight by the fenders but clears if I am remembering right.
