I recently picked up a 14 bolt from a member here. It came with a set of Black Widow Performance disc brackets on it. The odd thing about these brackets is they apperntly use dodge rotors instead of chevy. Does anyone remember what vehicle they were exactly off of? And does anyone remember if they take the normal GM calipers? Thanks!

Here is a pic of the axle. You can see the hats on the rotors are deeper and the brackets use less offset.

sure dodge ?

I got a set of ford 3/4 ton ttb front rotors on 1 of my axles with spacers and backing plates from a gm 3/4 ton front .

the ford rotor is deeper and less thickness for spacer.

How the hell? Internet archive?! I'll have to remember that! Thanks! Strangely tho, none of those look like what I have. Interesting stuff. I'll have to do some more investigation I guess.

It's the WABAC (Wayback) Machine - the time machine invented by Mr. Sherman for his pet boy Peabody. :woot:

If the bracket and spacer each measure 3/8" thick then GM rotors will work.

As Brett said, Ford has a slightly deeper hat and the spacer is thinner.

Not sure on Dodge because I've never heard of anyone making brackets to work with them.

IIRC, the different rotor had something to do with using another caliper to fit 15" rims with no grinding... If that makes sense.. IDK, it's been awhile.

IIRC, those rotors were custom machined to fit the 14FF. If you need to replace the rotor, you will need to replace the whole kit or modify another set at a machine shop.

Yours have the same square spacer that they have (had) on their site. And they have the same 'web' design on the ears that the shackles have, although the pics on the archive site show different style for both the brake brackets and shackles. I'd say you have an early version of the brackets before they did the signature web and spider design.

That's what I'm wondering. The last set of discs I did were from ruff stuff and we're the ones where rotor needed machined down to use 15" rims but with them it was just normal k20 front calipers.

Sall good! I'll get er figured out! I'll toss it under the truck in probably 2 weeks or so.
