i talke to a guy that deals with customer complaints and worked at detroit and powertrax.he said he got a ton of complaints about the lockright.he said the no-slip is a better design and eliminates the wind up of the lockright because it has a lockout ring inside of the gears to help with taking corners so it doesnt lock up on you even if you floor it through a corner.it takes the ratcheting system outof the picture so it is easier to drive with.strait forward motion is not impeaded and it will totally lock back after a turn when torque is applied.i will be getting one of these for my front end.seems to be the better made locker.

front d60 35 spline, 37 ssrs at the time, not a problem.

a friend has one in a 14b and it is louder and harsher than my rear detroit. Other than that, there is no complaints that I know of.

I have ran both the lockrite and No slip front and rear. 10 bolts with 33" Mts.
Altho more expensive the No slip is a far better locker espically on the front. No noise, little if any torque steer, no bangs or pops. All the benifits of a regular Lockrite. Very well manered on the street.
Lockrites work well in the rear for most uses but I do not recomend them for the front unless used for a trail only truck.

I run a lockrite in the front (10b) with 36 iroks, have run it with 38.5x15 TSL's too. Worked well. Does not work well dry/icy patched road in 4wd in the winter, wants to pull to one side. I just leave the hubs locked in and run in 2wd until 4wd is needed.

I ran the Lock-Right in my rear 10B with no problems. Behaves like a detroit, so expect the bangs and chirps associated with hard acceleration into a corner. Goes "Clunk Clunk" around every corner, but not overly so. Did a great job on the trail.

Mine was a quick lock, same design though. I think they suck! Its a matter of time before the springs lose tension and you have to completely dissamble the front end just to add springs or shim them. I couldnt do either since I actually broke it. I was also breaking the rules by runnin 39.5s. You should be ok if you follow the guide lines in the instructions.

There is no way a Quic Loc is the same as a Lockright , Quic Loc's break , Lockrights DO NOT BREAK VERY EASILY AT ALL <------ :D

My Lockright has over 3 years of hard use , my Quic Loc was done in under 9 months , I had a thread or two about it at the time too .

I've ran one in my front D60 for years now. Originally had 13/38-16 TSL's and broke one inner (old necked-down style) and 2 30-spline stubs but the Lock-right was fine. I now have 39.5x15.5 TSL's and 35-spline stubs and no issues so far.

I know two guys who stripped them out, nothing obvious visually with them but wouldn't always stayed locked. Both were on front D60's under fullsize trucks with 42" tires and big-blocks and used hard....one of the trucks weighed 7,000 lbs. and ran a couple of years of hard trails, the other truck had a healthy big-block and was spinning donuts when it let go.

They are identical in design and actuation, but you would be correct in saying the quicklock is junk. All it took for mine to quit working was a little tiny pice of steel broke off where the pins recess

Got Lockrights front and rear on my CJ. Love them. They just suck for turning with the one in front. Lots of chirp from the rear in tight turns on pavement. You can also feel the torque shift when you get on it and change gears going down the road.

Im running one. no issues. every so often you get the bang, but its rare. I like it. Im running 4:10s and 33 x 12.5s. One of the best investments ive made. I rarely use 4wheel drive here.

I ran one in my front dana 60 and in the 14 bolt ff. Lots of hp and no problems. Every now and then I got quite a bang going around corners under power. Also a mild sway to the left hitting the gas while coasting, and a sway to the right when letting off the gas. It bothered my wife, but didn't affect the handling. I have no problem with them and am swapping them into my 89 this summer. Bad idea to drive on snowy icy roads though. Oh yeah, riding on 38 swamper radials.

I've been finding them cheap, so was thinking of putting them in my 60, and 14ff on 37's. I would be on the road some, but off more. Sounds like I might go for it. Thanks for the input.

I put one in the rear & HATED it! I replaced it with the full size Detroit & love it.
I am thinking about putting one up front, Nah, I hate it too much. I will put a full size Detroit in the front too.
