Anyone see a problem with this?

I found a killer deal on a set of custom driveshafts that will fit my truck just right. However, they are a CV shaft of the slip variety. Problem is, I still have a slip yoke in my 208. I'm going to do the SYE, just not yet. Anyone see a problem with running the shafts with the Slip Yoke till I get it eliminated? Thanks...

Well, on the rear shaft (the slip yoke one) the slip part of your new shaft will bottom out and the shaft will probably be too short.

And who knows when it will decide to extend itself, it could potentially bottom out the t-case.

I wouldn't use a regular driveshaft (with its own slip section) with a slip yoke t-case.

I will do the SYE before it ever sees a trail. This would just get it rolling under it's own power again.

think about it, you would have a shaft in the middle sliding back and forth. just find a stock shaft somewhere and keep these ones for later.

The CV slip is just that, a CV that slips in/out of the t-case. If it's a CV shaft with a flange it won't work with your slip t-case.

Here is a slip CV shaft.

Right....I get that. My 208 has the stock Slip Yoke. The driveshafts have a slip in them. Like a drive shaft for a truck with a fixed yoke. Sorry. I should have been more clear.

If the driveshaft has a slip in it then the CV end will not work for your t-case because it will be a flanged CV not a slip CV and you cannot have a slip CV AND a slip in the driveshaft at the same time. This is what i explained in my previous reply.

i think if u put a slip on the CV to work with ur stock T case AND a slip to be used later on with the SYE. the slip on driveshaft would collapse and close which would pull out the slip at the T case. and then u would flip over in a giant fireball.
