Anyone tried rockcrawling and not like it?

I'd imagine I'd like it...when I have the money...and my mom allows me( ) I willfly down and try it somewhere if anyone lets me along on a trailride.

Why don't you come out to the coast Steve? We have a ton of mixed trails, some rock areas, and plenty of mud if that is your thing.

I'd love to live out there, I love the ocean and all, my auntie and uncle live in Pendour Harbor on the Sunshine coast and they have waterfront property. Really nice out there. I wouldn't mind getting a boat and fish/crab/etc too...but I hate the ammount of rain the Vancouver area and the islands gets. I guess thats good for mud and all.
I don't know, if I don't move to the US I'd be moving West somewhere around you or on the Island depending what University/college I go too.
Also, even though I haven't done a lot of mudding, I don't think I want to have to clean it up all the time, especially if I am driving on the street with it, don't want to get pulled over. The pictures of the trails from around there (The BC4x4.com site, where they 4x4 in there pictures) look really nice, but I want to get away from the cold, wet, snowy part.
We'll see what happens I guess???

Jeez Steve, you sound like an albertan. It doesn't rain that much here, or we'd all have boats instead of cars and trucks. Hell, my hardtop is off 6 1/2 months a year...

It's also a hell of a lot warmer here than where you live.

I love rockcrawling. I have tried trail rides, mud, snow, etc, and rockcrawling wins hands down for me. Some people really like the longer trails that take you over miles and miles. Personally if I get on a trail that takes me all day to go 1/4 mile I am stoked. I am completely addicted to rockcrawling, and there appears to be no cure.

Mud Vs Rocks

I have done a lot of mud its fun but everyones right it is a pita to clean up and or work on your rig... when i was first introduced to the scene i would go through corn fields and a lot of private property\creeks the adranaline for me was the voice inside my head saying **man if you get stuck your screwed hope you can get out of this without getting shot or caught..** I was ounce shot at by a farmer and that made me grow up a little bit now I do it on land with permission or a offroad park. ive done the rock crawling thing a little and liked it because of the skill needed and lessons that need to be learned from all its teachings *cha ching* so i would have to say they are all fun but my favorite are steep hill climbs and rocks although hill climbs are scary when your running a carb but then again thats all a part of the rush for me. btw I lived in southern california for almost a year it is wayyy to expensive to live out there nice places for wheeling and stuff tho and the beaches are very nice. now im in good old pennsylvania

I'm gonna have to put my vote in for the mud. I mean I haven't really been on any real rocks yet because I still have to drive my truck everyday. But I'm looking forward to trying them out when the play truck is done. But just from the little I've been on rocks just don't fit my driving style. I like playing in the deep mud and climbing hills where horsepower and a heavy foot is your friend. Also say coming across a rock garden or something like that on a trail is fun but I just couldn't see myself crawling all day long. But I'll have to wait and see once I really give the rocks a try.

Thot you went up Lockwood/Miller last month? Kabob Hill and that one spot on Miller qualify as rocks. Not too extreme, but rocks none the less.

Steve you should find a ride to Blazer Bash next year. There are plenty of people to ride with both with the hardcore guys and sheetmetal gang.

You'd probably be the most popular guy there, even more popular than Steve Fox and Stephen Watson.

For me the enjoyment is two-fold. Driving the trails and then figuring out and making the improvements to the truck.

Well, this weekend consisted of 90% crawling and even in a fullsize bogger shodden rig...I love it...it's awesome actually coming up with lines and having to know your clearances instead of diving into a pit and hoping for the best. I'll be back to Gilbert in spring to get revenge for what tabletop did to my muffer

Muffler? You should see what Table Mesa has done to most of our trucks. We own Wimpy so that should tell ya somethin of the capabilities.
