Wondering if they are worth the 220+ bucks they sell for online, when you can buy a pair of new 4 leaf HD stock type front springs for 110 each..

I just am tired of my truck bottoming out up front on rough roads and potholes--the springs are the "base" 2 leaf units and after years of plowing the rubber bump stops are only 3/4 of an inch away with the plow off,and with the blade on its riding right on the bump stops (and actually rides much smoother)..

I have torn a pair of stock bump stops off it twice now,but they were originals off other trucks I parted..

But--Looking at my '85 Suburban's identical front springs --same engine too, they too are not showing much clearance between the bump stops,so maybe my pickup's springs aren't as bad as I think they are..I think its just the nature of the beast, having the tapered leafs and negative arch to them..

Basically I'd like to try something like the Timbermens and get another inch of "lift",I realize they will always be in contact with the spring ,but if anything I think that would smooth the ride out better, instead of the springs bashing the stock bump stops..my shocks are junk too,so those will be replaced too ,though I wont expect any big improvement in the ride or and lift from new ones, they will just control rebound better...

Think they are worth it ?...:ears:..

You mean Timbrens?

Yeah,whatever the proper spelling is--..

My older brother bought some years ago for the rear of his E-350 "box van" that he converted to a beavertail car hauler, and they worked slick,no more bottoming, harsh ride unloaded,etc..

I'm a bit concerned the oem rubber bump stop brackets up front might not be beefy enough to support much weight there, especially with my truck being 34 years old..

I remember seeing a thread here about bump stops awhile ago,and some guys here were using rear oem S-10 ones that looked a lot like these Timbrens, but I cant recall if this was up front ,or the rear, and if they had stock springs,or lift kit ones...guess I'll have to search..

Timbrens are a foam specifically designed to do what your talking about. Carry extra load. I bet your gonna have to fabricate a mounting point though
