anyone use these transmission lines?

I'd go with some nice fitting fittings that prevent leakage and then flare them on the end so that standard oil/fuel hose will go on without leaking. I like my stuff black and dirty (and cheap)..

But not all greasy and oily..
 
im still up in the air, i can get factory style ones for less than half of the price, but ive literally had issues with hard lines on a half dozen 4x4's.

Trust me worth every penny!!!!! Not to mention if Greg recomms that means there really good as he is known for awesome transmission builds!

So long as you use proper hose rated for transmission cooler use thats OK--I have had regular fuel line swell up and blow before when I used that on a tranny cooler install...

Fuel line for non fuel injected use is rated only for 50 lbs working pressure and many transmissions exceed that ,especially ones that have shift kits or have been otherwise modified,and it doesn't withstand hot oil for that long either..whether its rated for EFI or carbs..

I prefer metal cooler lines,I've tried using 5 foot length of the proper tranny cooler rubber hose instead to avoid rust issues,but they rubbed against the body or frame and eventually failed,one nearly burnt my truck down when the hot ATF squirted right on the front exhaust pipe..if they had steel braid on them that wouldn't happen,but I feel the metal lines also add a bit more cooling capacity,where the braided rubber hoses would tend to insulate and keep the fluid hotter..

The metal tubing 5/16" is pretty cheap too,its only like 10 bucks for two 60" lengths ..if you use the nickel-copper stuff its double the cost,but its unlikely you'll ever have to deal with them again..
 
You can buy an adapter nut/fitting for the transmission holes off E-bay for like 10 bucks that lets you use AN fittings and hoses. that's what I'm running for all my transmission lines. I got my stuff from Jeggs tho. Cut to size hose lets you tailor it to your vehicle and route it where you want. Cost is prob similar depending on hose type and number of fittings you need. Im running a filter and a cooler so I needed more fitting and hose

I'm doing the same but I have more than $120 into my lines.
 
I really kind of wanted to do a separate cooler and not plumb to the radiator at all, but my Tranny guy doesnt care for them, he has no problem with running one in addition to the radiator however. I wish I could find something less universal than this but Im running up against a pretty set in stone budget as well.

Greg, do this just screw right into the trans and radiator in your experience? I live a ways from a parts store and its not a really good one anyway. Id like to have all my parts and ducks in a row so to speak.
 
think its worth it on a basically stock rig on 35"s? th350 with goodies, stock engine?

it gets hot where we live, youre not that far away.
 
Keeping fluid clean and cool is the best thing you can do for your trans, it is it's life blood. If you have the means to do so I would recommend an additional cooler with any modified vehicle.
