Anyone using bedrail caps on their topless K5s? Post 'em if you got 'em...

I'm looking for a more finished look for my K5 when I take the top off. With the top off it's pretty much like a pickup truck bedrail but with holes where the top bolts down (as all of you know). I'm thinking of getting some nice diamond-plate bedrail caps for a shortbed K10/C10 and precision-cutting them down to fit on the Blazer bedrail. Then I would just drill holes in it to match the top-mounting holes and bolt it down. Then I would simply remove it when the top goes back on. If I'm figuring right, there will be no modifications to the truck at all. Anyone ever done this or have pictures?

Also, is the bedrail of my '73 Blazer the same width as the bedrail of say a '73 fullsize GM pickup truck?

Wow :eek1: nobody? Guess I'll have to photochop it or else just do it and post pics.

But as far as the bedrail widths go, I know some of you guys have both Pickups and Blazers, are the top of the bedsides the same width?

Should be easy to do. I was thinking of getting a longbed tonneau cover and bending/cutting the rails to go up on the back of the cab. If it was long enough, you could have a trim shop put a window in it. Cheap custom STC cover.
But I don't know if the widths are the same either. IMO they should be

Best I got right now.
