I work for a video production company specializing in "extreme" motor sportshttp://www.xtreememotorsports.com/ We are currently expanding our 4WD section, and hope it will grow out of control like the rest of the site. We covered a few NEUROC events last season and hope to cover much more this year. At this moment it is unknown if we will have the funds to get my ride trail ready and reliable enough to film with.
Right now we are looking for somone to ride with at events. We are looking for everything mud, rocks, snow, baja, whatever! If anyone can help us out with a ride, knows of a great event, or has a contact please contact me at [email protected]

We are also looking for any ideas you might have within any motorsport. The more out of control the better. If you have an idea that you thought would "look great on film" let us know and we'll see if we can make it happen
thanks
Luke

I would'nt mind being in an affroad movie. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

/forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif Yet another film company with little or now funds. I've had my share of dealing with film companies. Never did anything in motor sports but have had plenty of dealings with them in air sports. They want everything from you including risking your life but they never seem to have any money to spend. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

Uhhhhhh, yeah. Let's get some great footage of offroaders just tearing up the countryside and rolling their trucks. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Why are you only interested in "out of control" stuff? I would assume a guy like you who's been around CK5 since 2000 would know prefer clips of responsible wheelers in order to help dispell the myth that every guy with a 4x4 on big tires is a redneck with no regard for Mother Nature.

Guys, think twice about sending any footage to someone you don't know...... /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

Yep,
Same thing happens with air sports. All they seem to be interested in is the down side of the sport. Crashes, injuries and mishaps. And then they edit so that the sport looks even worse than it really is. In the end, you're not going to get much in return for your footage but the film company will make millions...

dang guys... lighten up.... havent you seen the white knights videos of the mud pits and trail runs.... some of those are WAY out of control and there all on terrain set up for it. Also places like pismo beach here where you can jump trucks off sand dunes, or race your k5 against a ATV i mean it makes good video and yet does nothing to the enviroment. you can be extreme and crazy and still tread lightly. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Sorry to hear you are so negative about things. You really should do a little research though before you make such statements. I never said anything about not having money I said we didnt have the $20K+ it will take to put my truck where I want it. We just purchaced a 32' coach to make life easier on the road and just got back from filming in Greece. Try buying some songs for a video at $2K+ a song its not fun. Talk to some motorcross guys. If you dont have $10K in your hand you walk away empty handed. I'd love to pay everyone but the cash just isnt there for someones 15seconds of fame.
Why dont you check out our stats on our site if you think we are a no-name company . 5-6million hits a month..somebody is checking us out

We fully support "Tread Lighty" We will not film "offroaders just tearing up the countryside and rolling their trucks" Anything of a "destructive" nature has always been filmed on private land or closed course with the owners full consent. Like my original post said we are looking to film actual sanctioned events. That would pretty much rule out most of your concerns

Once again you make statements without researching what you are bashing.
Check out our trailer at http://www.xtreememotorsports.com/UWS.htm its 2.34mins long and during that time there is only one partial shot of a crash. That is a good representation of our layout.
Sure crashes sell and there will always be some in the video. We have never included a serious mishap in our productions. I'd like to think we document the achievements more than the failures.

I never asked for anyone to send me footage. We are professional in our business techniques and will gladly come to your event to film. As for being a stranger to some, thats why I am making introductions now....so in 5 months when I meet up with you to film we will be comfortable with each other and be able to have a great time.

Thanks for clearing things up, brother. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I hope you understand why I replied the way I did. For all I know you were using a link to someone else's company for credibilty. There's a lot of eco-nazis out there that would stoop so low as to misrepresent themselves in order to collect video evidence of "evil 4x4ers" doing stupid stuff with their trucks.......

One can never be too careful when dealing with "strangers" on the Internet. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

Well you double posted me on this. I'm sorry if you don't like my post. It wasn't intended for you to like. I have dealt with film companies for over 20 years and they have all been the same. I'm sure you have lots and lots of hits on your site. That proves nothing. In my opinion, all film and production companies are ruthless bastards. I see no reason for your company to be any different. All they care about is the bottom line.

I even had a deal with "Junkyard Wars" not too long ago. They wasted my time, my money and my phone bill. Then on the day they were to show up, they didn't. No calls. No messages. Just didn't show up. Why? I wondered the same thing. When I finally contacted the idiots, they told me they found a cheaper place to do their episode. But they didn't bother to tell me that they had changed locations.

I could go on and on listing bad dealings with production companies. Commercials, full length features and documentaries. Not one has ever lived up to expectations. Now when I am called upon to deal with one of them I just hang up. I even lost a good friend to a pushy director who just had to have one last take. It killed my friend. And to top it off, they used the previous footage anyways. They have no scrupples. The bottom line is all that counts. If someone else out there wants to deal with them fine. Go ahead. I hope they have better luck with production companies than I have.

Its really a shame you have had so many bad experiences with the film industry. You seem to feel we are all "ruthless bastards" and "only intrested in the bottom line" Branding entire groups of people because of the acts of a few is a extrememy naive and closeminded mindset.
I will no longer continue this banter with you. It is evident that no one could ever change your mind and you will continue to posion the rest of us with your negativity.
If anyone has any concerns with our business practices please email me and I will put you in contact with any one of the dozens of teams and individuals we have already worked with. They will have nothing but the highest of praises with how they have been treated.

Im already in video - we just can't show it here! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
