anyone watch top gear for the trucks

Top gear

I could have gotten a better chevy for 3000, but it didn't suprise me, that it kept going, they should have gotten the years of trucks each manufacture was best known for...if that makes sence, and they should have gotten trucks that were more similar, for example all the same 1/2 ton or 3/4, they should have bought bone stock trucks with similar milage and then lifted them with the same lift (6") and the same tires (35") or 37's and then they could have been comparing more apples to apples, plus the dude that drove the chevy seemed like he's probably the smarter of the bunch as far as his style of driving, I could have won with that dodge and I'm a chevy guy, those guys have a cool job just traveling around and goofing off and passing it off as "testing" for a show

the people that couldnt appriciate that, are taking it way too seriously. this is the same show that made an LS1 powered blender because it could. puts celebrities in a little POS and sends em around a road course, this is not about apples to apples fair comparisons.

taken for what it was, i thought that was pretty awesome, the fact that the chevy made it through, and got out of the iceburg lake at the end, is just gravy.

feel bad for the guy in the chevy though, he's a professional driver, drift champion actually, and had his mind in the right place going for the diesel engine. too bad he got shafted with the guzzoline swap.

Wrong! That was the British Top Gear, and this show has very little in common with that version.

Overall I liked it, but I also recognize it is about entertainment. But, there is more to it. We are, for the most part, Chevy guys here and we have a much stronger attachment to our trucks than any of those guys did. You cannot buy a truck sight unseen and build as strong an attachment.

I thought it was pretty good show, I like to watch any offroading and this was way better than anything else that was on that night

I enjoyed the heck out of it. This show is entertainment. Its not supposed to be a how to show, take it for what it is and enjoy it or turn the channel.

looks like all three trucks got cages and harness's...but the Chevy guy apparently doesn't like being belted in at all.

It's a little ironic that a 1/2 ton, C clipped, 700R4'd, chevy won against a 3/4 ton Ford and a 3/4 ton Dodge. The Ford death was just sh!tty driving though, and likely so was the Dodge death. I can only assume the Dodge inhaled a fair bit of water/mud...newer stuff like that have the air intakes in bad spots for that type of wheeling.

Fun to watch in any case. My favorite part was when the Chevy ran over the log cabin that was in the middle of the trail.

Just saw it on Streetfire. Go Chevy!!!! I wonder if most of our trucks can make that drive. Hmmmmm...............

Find the other thread we have about this on here. The local says they could.

The only problem I have with how they've handled trucks so far (this makes twice) is none of them know squat about trucks or offroading and they totally go into it from a car guy mindset. When Tanner reviewed that hopped up Ford Raptor he basically complained the whole time about how it handled badly, was loud, had a soft suspension, and got terrible gas mileage.
Then he proceeded to go beat on it offroad like it was meant for and it did superbly.

This xs about a billion. I can't watch these shows if I try to pick them apart. I know alot about cars and trucks overall and can pick nearly any show apart. I just choose not to.

Although the one show I cannot stand to watch is supercar challenge on speed. If they would just not talk and stuff it would be ok.
