One of my co-workers has a late model 1500 that has a 6-inch lift on it and is having trouble getting the camber and toe dialed in. Several shops have told him that he needs different parts and others just say its because it's IFS and thats the way the cookie crumbles. I tried searching the forums, but didnt quite find waht I was looking for. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

what brand of lift kit?
how much does he have the torsion bars cranked up?
did he add torsion bar keys to the lift kit?
are they trying to align it with big tires on it?

ive had a few ifs trucks lifted,it can be tricky, impossible if the torsion bars are cranked too far...another thing...my tahoe actually rode and drove better when i set the align to non factory specs....it took a little trial and error, basically i went with the specs for an older truck with a straight axle.
like i said it wasnt within factory specs, but drove nice, tire wear was normal...
just my .02

i have an offroad shop and we lift ifs's all the time....anyways, a trick i always tell people to do is when getting an alignment, crank the hell out of the nut on the bolt....the factory specs can't handle the bigger/more offset tire and wheels.

also, find a really good shop...we send ours to a place that aligns big rigs....never had a problem. even with TBkeys maxed on all sorts of things....more info would help for sure though....

I'm not sure of the brand of lift, what was used to lift the truck, or where the work was done. I might have to get more info and post that for folks to get a better picture of what the problem is. Thanks for the info so far and I'll post up some more on tuesday when I see him next.
