getting parts rounded up to finish the 5.13 gears / arb air lockers / ord doubler kit / and 38-40" tires.

i have dana 60 and stock shafts with prem non greaseable spicer joints the cold forged style.

14ff van width and stock shafts.

what will happen. my main question area is the shafts / joints on the 60 front.

should i get some good shafts and joints and if so who ?

looks like yukons are the popular shafts. who has the best price on a shaft kit? if you got a set and can find the info . thanks for any help.

I ran stock inners/spicer 35 spline outers ,5-806 joints, and an ARB in my front 60 and went over three years before I broke short side inner at the top of Tank Trap.

I had gotten Yukon inners, spicer 35 spline outters, and 5-806s as spares for both sides so that if I ever broke I would have an upgraded shaft to put in.

I have been running my 60 since 2003/4 and the origional stock long side inner/Spicer 35 spline outer and 5-806 is still alive :D

well that sound good.

mabye i will just got spicer stubs and and broch the spicer hubs to 35 and run it till it pops.

The 30 spline outers are a BIG weak point on a front D60. Get rid of those and make sure that you don't have the small neck-down inner shafts and you'll be good to go.

ya i got 88 axle so no neck down for me.

looks like 2 35 outers and good spicer joints and broch spicer hubs to 35 then.

Like mentioned above, get rid of the outers and go to 35 spline. I am running all Spicer stuff up front with no issues yet. I am planning to go to Nitro shafts at some point though.

I broke several stock 30-spline stubs and an original Spicer neck-down inner with skinny 38's. I have since replaced everything with new non-necked Spicer inners, Yukon 35-spline outers, flanges, and Spicer u-joints. No issue after several years on 39.5's.

When I replaced the inners the only options were stock Spicers non-necked shafts or really expensive chromoly, hence the reason for the Spicers. When I did the 35-spline stub upgrade the lower price chromoly versions were availabe so I went with the Yukons since they weren't much more than Spicer.

I run Spicer 35 spline shafts and joints too. I broke a couple Warn premium hubs and now I run drive flanges. When with the ARB engaged, go easy on the throttle at full turn, that is when ears break.

well after looking at shaft kits and stub shaft kits and spicer cold forged joints.

i decided what the heck. its 1/3 more for me as i would of got 35 spline outers and spicer joints. so why do it 2x in the end.

i got a set of 35 spline inner / outer / spicer cold forged u-joints with full circle clips from yukon . the best deal i found was rpmoffroad a vender hear. thay seem to beat everyone by 50-75 bucks. the kit was instock and shipped same day.

i figure i have a 77 k30 also with stock kneck down shafts . i plan to have a 454 in it so i was going to get somthing better anyway. so i will use these stocks 88 shafts to replace them. so its a win win for me in the end.

will post pics when thay show. thanks for the info guys.
