Is anyone useing one in their rig ? How’s it set up ? Are you useing ARBs compressor ? Do you like it ?

I have a semifloat 14 with arb and the little compressor it came with and it works perfectly. I absoloutly love it. So nice to have open or locked at the flip of a switch. I have a spool up front and it turns much better when i flick the rear open.

I bet man man I’m super excited about getting one .

Hard to see in the pic but I ziptied the airline and the axle vent together up to the frame.
IMG_4742.JPG I ran the airline in this stuff to protect it. Works pretty good. I got it at napa locally.

Detroit doesn’t make a electric or air locker right ? I like to be able to have the option of on or off.

But in all seriousness they leak alot. Seem to be in need of constant service. Copper line breaks at the carrier bearing and poof there goes 100 bucks. If you're wheelin and something catches your line there goes your locked diff. Day ruiner imo. They don't perform well and the compressor doesn't do much more than power the locker. Lots of extra expense for almost no gain.

To each their own. I had a detroit in my old truck and I hated it. Never had any leaks or problems on mine but then again Its not a daily driver.

I've only been running the rear ARB about a year and the front for about 2yrs. Haven't had any issue with the front. With the rear ARB I learned the plastic blue line doesn't like being very near hot exhaust. So I did have to invest in stainless braided line.

I'm using the ARB twin compressor and a 3gal tank. It's not cheap but I needed something that i could also use for air bags. Works good for airing up tires too. And I have a few air tools.

I bought the compressor a year before the first locker. Basically I purchase each thing a year apart so it wasn't such a huge hit to the wallet.

My fleet of Detroits is becoming all ARB, would never go back. Most problems are from crappy installs, they're super reliable if done right.

Thanks this makes me feel better about my purchase.

I'm also using one in my 14bff. Works great, but the seal went bad and pumps oil back into my compressor so I need to replace the o-rings inside.

Most people think that ARBs are the same throughout time. They actually have improved the design a couple times.

If you had asked me that question 10 years ago I'd say no. I saw lots of ARB issues. Now much better. Customer service sucks though. I've ordered parts through ARB and not gotten them for months.

I will say that lots of ARB issues are install problems though

you need to invest in silver solder and flux . when i installed mine i snapped it for some odd reason . i was able to heat it up and remove it . then i installed it and fixed it my self .

As one of the biggest ARB retailers in the country, the customer service issue comes down to their availability of the parts in the US. Since they are an overseas based company, a lot of the times they have parts either in Australia or on the water to come over here.

I've had orders that have taken 6 months to get, which really blows. Other than that though, I think their customer service is top notch.

So I got my arb locker any suggestions on compressor setup other than arbs ?
