I have got the Archery bug BAD! Ive always wanted to get into it, and i can afford it now. I am pretty sure im going to go with the Bowtech Diamond Justice, 60-70#, start out with 80% let off, hostage rest with 3pin flatliner sight, with the string loop and medium size peep sight.

Should I get anything else besides a target and arrows? is that Block4x4 any good?

What are you using? How do you like it?

Something about being stealthy enough to get that close to animals is cool as hell in my book.

I am using a 25 year old pse. I love it and am accurate up to about 50 yards with it. My buddy is using a mathews and he is accurate up to 65-70 yards with his. I am using the cabelas brand shooting block and have had no problems with it. I am hoping to get a javalina tag this year and see if I can stick one.

how much pull # are you running? what draw length/height are you? just curious.

I have the Block 4x4, it's taken a couple hundred shots and still going strong. Fellas I hunt with have blocks that are practically falling apart from thousands of shots, and they'll still stop an arrow.

havent got my target yet, so im using dads old one.

I know that the subject is over 3 months old but anything about archery intrest me.
I shoot an 80# Hoyt 31" draw at a Morrell target bag. I went through 3 targets before I found one that actually stopped my arrow. Although I did not try the block you are talking about.

I agree about the getting close to the game. My first deer I shot was a 7 pt buck and he actually rubbed his side on my tree right before I shot him. I have had does walk between my ladder and tree while hunting in a ladder stand. Anytime you can get that close to these animals, it is crazy.

I have 2 bows. my hunting bow is a PSE Game Sport with a fast flight system.
The other is my first compound bow. It is a laminated wood Browning X cellerator.
I used to have a nice Fred Bear recurved bow but i traded it for a gun.
Both my bows are old bows and shoot well. There is an archery range close by. So I usually shoot there at 3d targets. I am deadly out to 50 yards fair to good at 60 to 80 yds.
I used to compete in 3d shoots. But haven't shot one in years. Been thinking about getting back into it lately. Now that I have more free time on my hands.
Best shot I made. Was a 50 yd shot on a 3x3 buck that was walking slow. I did not draw an archery tag this year. I put in for a late season hunt that allows you to hunt during the rut. it is a hard tag to draw but It is a great time to get a trophy Mule deer. Hopefully next year. Till then I guess I'll keep practicing.:D
