Are '73-'80 and '81-'91 dash pads interchangable?

I have a '79. Can I put any model dash pad in it?

I am sure you could make it work, but the dash pads did change between 73-80, and 81-87

I do know that they are different, but will one bolt in place of the other and fit up to the bezel/air vents/show vin/ ect properly?

yep same deal just differetn shape

but watch out on vin tag opening, 78 older on door frame,
79 went to dahs,
but smaller hole in dahs for tag, 80-up bigger,
79 and then 80 dash pad are one of a kind

so at least three different pads made 73-87

i have been told you half to change the frt dash frame unit to fit it proporly
