If so which way are they suppose to go? CW or CCW in pic below? If not which way would be better for mud/dirt trails?

You're just chock full of questions :D

Yeah, they're directional and they should be turning clockwise in your picture. Some people run them backwards so that they can get themselves unstuck easier than they can get themselves stuck.

Supposedly running directional tires backwards on the street can cause some bad ju-ju

I'm inquizitive what can I say! I just ordered my other two wheels and I noticed the guy that had the boggers before me (he had two 8 lug and two 5 lug) had both 8 lug running the same direction. I would think they would need to be opposite from each other if they were on the same axle. Thanks for the help!

Each tire has an arrow on it showing the direction it needs to rotate, like I described before.

All four tires should be rotating the same direction.

Thats what I thought! Wonder why the hell he had them going different directions! I will just have to get the other two mounted opposite like the ones I have. Is it hard to mount something like 38.5x15x16 boggers myself? I have never tried to mount a tire before so I was planning on taking it in to a tire shop.

IMO, it depends. Some tires are easy, some are not. My 37" MT/R's were very hard to mount, my 42" IROKs were pretty easy.

Harbor freight sells tire spoons if you feel like giving it a shot (use liquid soap to help everything slide together easier).

What about balancing? Would they even balance a tire like this? Would it make a difference? Can I use bb's? Will I F-up an aluminum rim if I don't know what I'm doing? I gotta go to bed now b4 I think of anymore questions!

Thank you for your help!

Well, youre question is already answered, but heres a picture to illustrate how they should be pointed on a truck (haha, my 44's look tiny):

As for balancing... well, good luck. Are you going to drive them on the street or high speeds or mainly use them off road and in mud? I never worry about balancing.

Well, the one mudhole was actually deep enough that he got stuck even with 54" Boggers... they pulled him out at an angle and the tire rolled off the bead, so they had to take it off and clean it and re-seat it, so this was right as he had finished putting it back on the bead.

I used about 2000 air soft bb's in each of my 38.5" tsl, and they do fine once they warm up. I would be more hesitant mounting my first tire on a aluminum wheel then on a steel wheel. I would just give it a try and if its easy just do it yourself, if its sketchy just 'em take to a tire shop. Good luck

BBs are a waste of money... good ole hammer on weights work wonders!

yes boggers can be balanced, quite well actually... my unbalanced cut boggers ride better than my balanced radial XMLs :doah:

Until they fall off that is. I think I spent like 10 or 12$ for a huge box of airsoft BB's and they work great starting at about 20mph or so

i did the whole airsoft thing on my 36s... anything over 40mph and the steering wheel felt like i was using a push lawnmower they vibrated so bad. went to the tire shop, had them remove all the BBs and did the hammer weights. drove away and never had a single vibration since... all the way up to the 100mph kill switch

I have about 2500 in each of my 38.5" tsl's and it will go up to 70 or so just fine :dunno: any more then that just seems kinda wrong with no doors, no roof and over 2 tons of old steel. In theory it should get smoother the faster you go
