This makes my second or third broken center pin (in a couple of years, but then, my truck doesn't get driven all that often). I've recently been battling death wobble (added some washers, replaced my sloppy tie rod). Not quite sure if the broken center pin was a contributing factor to the death wobble or if the death wobble was a contributing factor to the broken center pin. One of those chicken or the egg type questions. Anyways, are broken center pins just one of those things that happens with a locker and 39.5's? How often do ya'll find a broken pin?

I've broken the center pins twice in my front end locked with 39.5's. I use zero rates off centered so my center pins are less than an inch long. The reson mine broke is that they came loose, Im sure. You just have to loctite them good. I didnt use it before:doah:

I broke one when the u-bolts loosened up and I neglected checking them.:o
Now I check them when I do other normal stuff like oil changes.;)

I have broken one. U-bolts were tight and all. not sure how it happened but it was while I was flexing right out with 33" tires and stock suspension.
