Are crewcab, Suburban and Bazer front bench seats the same?

My crewcab's bench seat is ripped and missing a few springs under the drivers side, I was just going to try and find a decent replacement. Are all front benches the same, besides standard cab trucks? Thanks

They should be the same from '73-'87 on the trucks; up to '91 for Burbs and Blazers. The only difference in the seats themselves (besides the uphosltry changes) that I'm aware of is that they changed the angle of the bench seat for the '80 models, but the mounting bracketry should all be the same.

Actually, there's lots of differences - floor shapes and seat brackets all varied through the models & years. I was gathering parts to convert my 91 crew cab to factory buckets not long before I sold it. I ended up needing seat brackets from a (iirc) 88+ Sub to use on some 89+ highback K5 buckets. There is still some fabbing required as there is a bracket tack welded to the floor of the Sub you may / may not be able to get with the seat brackets.

That said, BulldogK5 bought my truck and I believe still has all the bucket seat stuff (cloth/blue) and a center console for sale. You might want to shoot him a PM.

He was asking about bench seats though...I always thought they were pretty much the same. I could be wrong I suppose.

I wasn't even aware they offered buckets in Suburbans or Blazers, My original dealer brochure says bench only for 90 Crew Cabs. Another thing that amazed me is that you couldn't get a gray interior, just blue, red and tan.

Sorry, I read right over that without noticing. :doah:

With respect to benches, the floor in my 91 was flat from the pedals to the front of the rear seat but the floor in my 80 K10 had a hump from the front of the seat to the wall of the cab. My guess would be he'll need a bench from a Sub (possibly a later model).

Crew cabs are plentyfull, get a crew cab seat.
I have a few here but too far from you.
I will look to see what differences are on the bench itself, I have some regular cab benches too to compare.
I think the bench is the same but brakets are different, i will post as soon as I have answers.:D

Its really just the bottom cushion I need, the back cushion is in perfect shape. 3 springs fell out under the driver and that big screen like thing that holds up the cushion that the springs hook to is broken. Of course its ripped on the drivers side. I would think all the bottom cushions are the same between pickup, Suburban, Blazer, and crew cab? I've got to fix it soon, its like sitting in a hole compared to the passenger side.

If you want to take the time and fix yours I could take mine apprt and get you the springs and any parts that you need, just pay the shipping plus $20 for my time.
Shipping the whole thing could get really expensive though

AFAIK the bottom or seat of the bench should be the same. It's the mounting hardware and whether it leans forward or not that will make the difference.

Most K5's came with buckets and of the Subs I have seen about 1/4th have been bench fronts unless it was a stripped gov't issue. Then they were all bench fronts.

Thanks for the reminder to list them John.:wink1:
