I installed a complete Superlift 4" system on my truck over the summer and haven't even got a chance to do any fourwheeling yet and I was changing out the wedge on the bottom of the spring to help with the pinion angle and when I removed the lower shock mount it didn't even move.:doah: So I compressed it completely and NOTHING. Same thing with the other side. Has anyone else had this problem? What shocks do you recommend? This is a daily driver but will see occassional offroad use. Thanks in advance.

The Superlift shocks I had on my truck lasted a year with some wheeling on them. I replaced them this year with a set from Edelbrock. The price was right when I was shopping, that's the main reason I went with the Edelbrock.

Sounds like a regular ol' hydraulic shock.

Rough Country Nitro 9000's are nitrogen charged monotubes that you can get for under $40 a piece from JCWhitney. Make Big Ugly ride nice and controlled.

As already mentioned, a standard shock does not move on it's own...if you compress the piston is stays compressed or vice versa. Shocks are meant to damp/control the movement of the spring, not cause movement on their own. Only gas charged shocks will extend on their own because the gas charging creates a little bit of internal pressure but it's really a very small amount.

Did you happen to install them upside down? This lets air pockets form inside.

Superlift are typical quality for lift kit shocks.
