I'm trying to decide on lift height and plan on using TC all leaf suspension kit, Im concerned that since the spring rates are so much lower than others that I might not get a true lift....ex 2" lift gives 2" etc.
My last Jimmy I went cheap and bought rough country 6" and that gave me almost 8" it was so damn stiff :doah:

for all you TC owners please give me your thoughts for front and rear leafs and if you really got the advertised lift.

My plan is 33x12.50 on 15x10 with 4.25" backspacing so I was thinking of going with a 3" lift. This is a street queen 95% of time with a few camping trips and beach outings, nothing more. I live in the hood so I have to park this in garage lol. If you think 15x8 would be better then I want to go down to 2" if possible.

I personally like about a 9" or even a 8" rim for that tire size. The 10" seems to be too much rim protruding out on that smaller tire. Some don't think its a big deal at all but it just bugged me. If I go down from 35's to 33's, I will definitely look into the smaller 15" rim. I did originally have 33's and 9" rims at stock height.....minimal rubbing on the street. 2.5" lift would be nice I'd think.

I have 4" TC HD's on my K5 with the 6.2 and custom bumper and winch and the lift height seems pretty true. I replaced a set of 4" Skyjacker Softrides and there was not noticable difference in height, and with both sets of front springs the trucks appears to sit perfectly level with a 4" shackle flip in the rear.

i have the 4" tough country EZ ride all spring lift and its a true 4" lift

Thanks, Im still on the fence about 15x10 or 15x8 but 9" wide would be perfect.

Thanks thats good to hear, I really want the TC kit this time

I would definitely go with a 15x8, remember, the width of the rim is measured on the inner bead surface, so a 15x8 will be almost 9" wide to the outer edges of the rim.

Also, the tire width is the cross section of the bulge, the tread width is going to be narrower than that. So a 15x10 would be almost 11" wide, which is probably wider than the tread width, which to me looks retarded when the rim is wider than the tread width.

very good points, never thought about tread width...15x8 it is...now whats the recommended BS?......Im getting some steel wheels made so I can select any BS I require, or I will use a set of rallys I have in the shed.

So with 33's and 15x8's...(BS not determined) would a 2" be suffcient with swaybar connected no trim?

hmm....seems like the same setup i said i was doing. 4" backspace is what i'm doing, same as factory rally rims. now we just need one more person to get the same so we can do the group buy, huh?

yup, I get paid next thursday so Im ready now for everything, been working as much OT as I could stay awake for :woot:

I have 33 x 12:50's on 10" rims on my 2wd sub...it looks "just right" to me....:dunno:

when I do the 4x swap I plan on using the ez's....(4")

Mine is a 3/4 ton, so it sits slightly higher from the factory, but keep in mind that i am only running 1" add a leaf's.

Running rims that wide, you run into some rubbing. I had to bend the fender corners back before i could leave the driveway, but it will still rub slightly if turned and flexed at the same time. Mine pretty much lives on the street, so not too big of a deal.

2" or 3" springs would be perfect i think.

For reference, i am running 33x12.50x16.5 BFG's on 16.5x9.75" rims on my truck in this thread.

Those don't look too bad, right on the edge, I wouldn't want them any wider, but I would prefer them a little narrower. But that is just preference. I do agree those look fine, the rim is not wider than the tread. It all depends on the brand of tire and rim combination you choose as well. One companies 33x12.5 may have a tread ewidth wider or narrower than another companies tire, while keeping the same section width. Also, the rim width will change the section width of the tire as mounted.

Now he just needs a 15x8 to compare too...

I had some 33's on my 91 suburban with the factory rally wheels 15x8. Half ton truck with 1.5" add a leaf in front and 2" blocks in back. Minimal rubbing around town. I will try and post some pics later....

what if I went with the toyo MT 33x13.50x15?...Im just afraid I would rub in the dway

Oh and she does fit in the garage by 1.5 inches, my wheels are 16x8 w 3.675 backspacing, and it only rubs with the wheel turned just right and turning onto an embankment. Turned straight I can flex a good amount until it rubs. She's uncut also
