Would it be possible for club meetings to be held at Night Trips???????????
That sir, is the type of attitude I would expect from someone that would want to be a member :waytogo: :haha:
Damn fine idea!

I dont belong to a club because the general feeling in most clubs is that if you go off road its your falt that trails get closed. Here in the PNW the greenies tried to ban open range cattle ranching because the cows where "destroying the environment" . Moving mud with my tires does not destroy the earth , if erosion is destruction then the Grand Canyon is a disaster! I think its BS that you have to pay to use public trails and then after you pay they can shut them down. Here they open ORV parks and then the tree huggers search day and night for some kind of endangered moth or worm that lives in the ORV park. I dont like the game and I dont think your bad or part of the problem if you go off the trail. Think about it ,they dont want our trucks on the road either. They will never stop trying to close trails and outlaw our vehicles. This attitude is why I'm not in a club...they wont take me :D

I am part of a club in upstate NY called Mudnuts, first club I have ever been in. It's a good way to meet people in your area to swap ideas, and share wrenching time with.

I belong to a 4wheel drive club. Its called SFH Off-road Club. SFH stand for "straight from hell". Me and a few friends of mine started it about a year ago, and have about 10 members as of right now. Its based In Brockville, Ontario, most of our members live in our surrounding area, but we have a few members from Pensylvania. Its going pretty well, its a slow process but its getting there. We have a truck decal stickers made up for our Rigs, to show our club off as well. Our website is http://sfhoffroad.tripod.com
Its not that greatest site so bare with me, its a work in progress.

Founder of two clubs in Central Washington

I have started up two clubs here in Central Washington State.
The Central Washington Offroaders (CWO) www.cwoffroaders.org
&
Yota Central (YC) http://xsorbit28.com/users5/yotacentral/index.php

I started the clubs to boost the offroading status in Central Washington but more so to give guy's like myself a place to feel the love. LOL ok errrrr not. I started CWO up in June of 2003 and YC up about a month ago. I have found that participation in a all around club like CWO is minimal due to the fact the club is free, the club is open to all makes & models of rigs and that the club is open to people from all across Washington. So being so many of us are so spread across the state it is hard to get together for runs.
YC is still new and pretty well unknown to date but with our seven members it is actually a pretty active club for being so new. I think the hardest part about belonging to a club is keeping it active. It is not only the club owners job to keep the wheels turning but it is the job of members as well to plan trail runs, hold mod days, and keep the forum hopping. gotta love wheeling! :D

Never been a member of a club... never wanted to be either. Call me a loner or whatever, thats just the way it is. I never wheel alone, I just don't need some organization above me to go on trail runs. There is really only one good reason for 4x4 clubs to exist and that is to lobby to keep existing trails open and to open/build new ones. If said groups have raffles or events or whatever, I will support that kind of effort. Pretty much everything else clubs do isn't my cup to tea. I don't want a club president telling me what to do or a club treasurer telling me my dues need to be paid. I have enough bosses/rules/regulations/politics etc in my life as it is.

I think a lot of people join 4x4 clubs because they think of wheelin trips as social occassions. I know Im in the minority, but I don't think of them that way. Honestly, if it could be done safely with just 1 vehicle, I'd do it by myself. Im out there to wheel, not chat.

So bitter and angry... clubs are just for people with common interest to hang out and do what they share in common together. Great way to meet people who share same interests. Not all clubs have presidents who boss you around, they're typically there to do all the work of organizing events and informing the members... maybe you had a bad experience with a nazi 4x4 club? CK5 is even kinda like a club...

Here in St. John's Newfoundland there are two clubs which I am apart of but it is overrated. I can't find time to go out and watch Jeeps break stuff and watch Jeeps do this and Jeeps do that. There are too many Jeeps. So me and my buddies go out day or night to play. If it gets bad I call a few guys I know from the club. Our website is all messed up but here it is
www.nfld-offroad.com
Also the guys like to get together and shoot the #^!$ too much and have show and shine. I am sorry but can you shine mud and dents. The old 78 K5 doesn't clean up very good, even better than that I am not washing it. If they want it clean they can do it or ask mother nature to do it.

All my wheelin' buddys sold there truck, so on so on :( Now I go out by my self (with the kids alot) and it's fun, but not as fun as with a group.

You live in Idaho Falls, ID???? I moved from there!!! What's your name... maybe I know you!

I'm in Havoc Offroad. Their site is http://www.havocoffroad.com It's a club in Columbus, GA. Kind of small right now. Only about 15 or so members...but it just started in March. There is usually some riding every weekend around town...and we all help each other out on our rigs. Great way to learn about all kinds of different vehicles.
