Ash tray won't stay up

Is there a spring or something that holds the ash tray up? I push mine up, then it falls back down some.

My old truck didn't have this issue, and I've never noticed it in any other truck that I've been in.

I believe there is a spring in the bracket thing that mounts it to the dash,not sure what kind,maybe a leaf type or a spirally wound one..
It'd be easy to grab one from a boneyard complete to bolt in rather than mess with it...or glue a magnet to it instead!..
I kept a few spare ash trays from parts trucks,all I use my ash tray for is to hold my dump stickers and loose change since I quit smoking long ago...

If I get a chance today I'll go take pics of my ash tray. I've got it out of the truck right now, the spring is a coiled wire type.

or glue a magnet to it instead!..

That's what I did, got some little magnets and put them were the little bumpers go behind the ash tray.
I also don't smoke or put anything in the ash tray. My old truck I just kept change and spare fuses in it. I have a center console in this blazer, so that stuff goes in there now.

Ive never owned one that they ash tray spring stayed in place. They always seem to pop out and I repetitively have to fix it. Ive been threatening to weld up that ash tray on my dd.
